The Truth About Demonic Attacks and Darker Energies in Spirituality
Why do some “think” to encounter evil spirits in their spiritual walk

Before I had my spiritual awakening, I would binge-watch these YouTube videos of Ex spiritualists or witches turned Christians.
Because of their supposed “demonic experiences” with spirituality, These folks would speak out against the spiritual community.
And because I hadn’t yet broken free from those same preconceived notions of spirituality myself, I fell right into the trap that keeps most religious folk from evolving.
Fear keeps us in a box.
It is our fear that keeps us in bondage.
We cannot get out of our own box long enough to understand the things we were taught to fear and hate if we continue to ignore our inner voice of reason.
The inner voice prompts you to ask questions that no one else will — The voice that seeks absolute truth.
We learned early on by way of religious conditioning to call other belief systems evil and foolish because it doesn’t align with the beliefs we were forced fed long before we could even think for ourselves.
In hindsight, I see now what I was doing.
I used these videos from the “ex-spiritualist” turned Christians to justify my fear and lack of understanding. On an intuitive level, I knew that there was indeed something more out there than what the bible had to offer, as most of us do.
I was ignoring the inner voice of reason.
Still….these questions remained;
- had these ex spiritualist really been under demonic attack by darker entities?
- Did this indeed happen because of the spiritual practices they engaged?
- Are ALL spiritual practices forbidden by God?
- Was Christianity really the only “RIGHT” path?
I’ll now attempt to unwrap the truth about demonic possession…
There’s no devil in spirituality.
First things first, concerning evil influence and attacks by the devil and his little minions… I say, Hell no!
There is no such thing as the devil in virtually any spiritual practice or nature-based belief system.
The devil’s idea is 100% a religious concept stemming from the Abrahamic religions. Even more shocking, this whole idea of the devil wasn’t even a part of the early Christian church to begin with.
So who or what is the naked red dude? symbolism — an archetype.
You see,
we spiritual folk, we understand the concept of a shadow.
We all have one.
A shadow is just the darker energy of self.
It’s the opposite end of the spectrum needed to make a whole.
Our shadow side completes us — Our chaos that comes and shakes things up and our storm when we’ve had too much sunshine.
The law of nature states to have balance, the opposite of everything has to exist.
So in terms of evil, there is no devil, there is just the opposite of light energy
— dark energy, and it’s not good or bad. It just is.
People who have not understood this concept of energy attempt to suppress the dark side.
They do not yet know how to work with this side and become uncomfortable.
But because energy cannot be destroyed, nor can it stay stagnant, it’ll eventually show its ass.
In many cases, our “un-dealt with” suppressed shadow side will show itself to us like the things we fear the most.
This is to get our attention, of course.
So if a possession does happen, it’s not a monster crawling inside of you trying to take your soul. It is actually just the part of you that you’ve been trying to hide from yourself, reminding you that you’ve got to deal with it.
You won’t need a priest; you just need a notebook, some shadow work prompts, and perhaps a good hypnotist(depending on how suppressed your shadow emotions are.)
We all have this “evil” side regardless of our beliefs.
A common theme amongst these ex-spiritualist turned Christians is their ability to spookify( I think I just made this word up) spiritual practices.
Their spooky experiences seem to revert to the idea that spirituality is evil.
You’ll see YouTube videos or blog posts titled, “Why I left the new age spiritual movement” or “10 Occult Practices that are evil” and so on.
But spirituality in itself isn’t causing these attacks because the practices are evil.
Evil already exists within the human consciousness, and spirituality is used as a tool to help you bring it to light.
Unlike religion, which places everyone in a box and forces them to hide everything that doesn’t fit in that box — spirituality actually forces a person to understand the truth about themselves — all parts of themselves.
And unlike religion which forces one to give up the parts of themself that don’t fit the agenda, spirituality encourages us to make peace with it, even the most unpleasant features.
Perhaps it’s not a demonic attack at all, but rather a person looking in the mirror and finally knowing their own reflection, unfiltered and unapologetically.
Suppose indeed it is the spiritual practices that caused these so called “demonic possessions.” In that case, it’s not because spirituality is evil, but because it’s spirituality that brings to light our secrets and exposes the darkness and evil that was already within.
God forbids nothing
Spiritual people understand that we all are a part of God-consciousness.
Every person who has ever lived and is living now is God. We chose to come to this earth as physical beings with limitations to learn, grow, and experience life differently.
We chose our paths and purposes. We create our own world. We are The creative force that lives within the universe, the GOD-force
And because it is us that makes up God, we not only allow different spiritual practices, we encourage versatility in our human experience.
And we spiritual folks understand that investing in our spiritual life is just as important as investing in our education or anything else we do on earth.
There are many paths to enlightenment, and they all are neither good nor bad.
Christianity convinces its followers that religion is the only path to God, but we spiritual folk know that’s just not so.
And if I’m being honest, religion is barely a path at all, more like a roadblock and detour sign.
Paths are relative to the individual and the commute. We aren’t on the same track because we aren’t even on the same journey.
Could you imagine if there was only one main highway in the entire world, and we all had the same commute to our destinations? How would anyone ever get anywhere?
There are multiple highways, roads, streets, and pathways because we are all trying to get to our own destinations.
As I watched these YouTube videos of these ex-spiritualist turned Christians, I noticed a standard parting message: Give your life to Jesus because Christ and Christianity are the only way to salvation and heaven.
Unfortunately, this is one of the biggest lies “church-ianity” has forced its followers to believe.
Religion will place everyone on one crowded highway and force us to drive the narrow road leading to dead ends and detours.
Spirituality clears a customized path fitting for the individual because when it comes to our designations, The one size fits all thing just won’t cut it.
My friend, don’t be easily swayed by religious delusions. The only evil that exists is that of spiritual constraint and conscious oppression. The greatest evils lie in the sheep-like minds of people who’d instead be told what to think than to exercise their own free will and power.
Good and evil are just two sides of the same coin, two ends off the same spectrum — the duality of the mind and soul.
Demons, devils, Satan, demonic possessions, darker entities are misrepresentations of the true nature that lives within us all, the distorted view of our innermost truths we attempt to hide from ourselves and the rest of the world.
Any parts of ourselves that we attempt to ignore become our shadow, and a shadow can never be destroyed only explored. If you try to suppress the shadow, the shadow will eventually try to suppress you and overcome you.
