Fuck TikTok, I'm not Conforming

The World Just isn't ready for people like us.

As I sit contemplating posting my last TikTok in the draft, I feel an overwhelming sense of anger, I haven’t felt in a long time.

I’m not the one to make these kinds of complaints,

Nor am I fixated on likes and comments to enhance my ego and make me feel good about the kind of content I post.

Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share the things I’ve noticed about these social platforms,

specifically, TikTok.

There’s No Room for People Like Us.

Despite TikTok being one of the largest and fastest growing apps around,

Content creators like me won’t get any interactions.

You know, the real, raw, and straightforward type.

The type who’s more interested in the weight of the content,

than how my hair, nails, and makeup look in the clips.

The ones that want to promote evolution and personal development

instead of shaking my ass to the same played-out songs we’ve all heard too many times.

The ones who use their voice to spread authenticity

instead of lip singing to someone else’s song knowing damn well you don’t even know the words (insert cringe here.)

Our videos won’t get any interactions because we don’t get views.

We won’t get views because our videos won’t go anywhere (despite doing all the little tricks and tips to meet the algorithm)

Our videos won’t go anywhere because people like me obviously don’t fit the “look” or the desired niche topics.

What are the desired topics you ask?

Group 1: The group of creators that speak on women’s rights and call out the toxic misogyny.

Group 2: The group OF creators catered toward the LBGTQ+ Community that sheds light on homophobia and other issues within the community

or

Group 3: The community of creators who spread information and awareness on injustice and racism, and life for BPOC.

Oh wait, I had to insert one more group here: Bandwagon Hoppers

*These are they that fall on the bandwagon of whatever the hottest topic is of the moment (usually something out of one of the three groups above OR some celebrity bullshit we already saw.) spewing recycled shit A THOUSAND PEOPLE ALREADY SAID with no authenticity and no originality, just looking for views and likes.

While things like race and equality are very important, and I’m thankful for the plethora of big content creators I follow that shed light on these matters

I find it irritating and completely irrational that various other important subjects go under the radar. (Like REAL spirituality, holistic wellness, and mental health.)

What’s more,

there is a whole spiritual community on TikTok (usually filled with young people in their early 20s) trying to tell people how to do love spells.

Or talk about manifesting but can’t manifest a fucking rabbit out of a damn hat.

Or SOME GUY WITH A COLORFUL MOHAWK AND BLACK NAIL POLISH TRYING TO SELL ME HIS COURSES ON BULLSHIT HE JUST HEARD SOMEONE ELSE SAY.

AND THESE ARE THE SPIRITUAL CONTENT THAT GETS THROUGH…

I know the time, work, and effort I put into all my content across ALL my platforms.

I know the value I bring (or at least have the capabilities of bringing if my videos would be seen by the people who need to seem them.)

Maybe I’m just too raw and real.

Maybe I’m just too different.

I Can’t speak that fluffy tired ass talk that’s been spoken so many times before me.

I won’t quote the same injustices that we already know we face (there are plenty of people who do that already)

I won't be dolled up in every single video talking about light-hearted happy shit that feels good to the ears.

And I can’t help but wonder,

are these videos promoted on purpose?

Does TikTok want the awareness of human suffering without the antidote?

People are more addicted to talking about the problems in the world than fixing the problems within themselves and platforms like TikTok is the example of this.

My Tribe Please Report to the Front of the Line

I’m looking for my community of people.

People who are tired of talking about the problems in the world, while refusing to fix the problems in themselves.

People who are serious about their spiritual evolution and less about how spiritual THEY LOOK.

People who want to grow, learn, share, and express ideas with one another.

People who don’t follow the crowd but are willing to think for themselves.

(People who don’t have an attention span of a damn rat and can watch a 3minute or less video without the glitz and glam and damn cartwheels just to keep their attention.)

I know you are out there, and I know you feel like you’re not getting heard, but I hear you and I see you.

The world just isn’t ready to hear us yet, and to that we say,

FUCK EM!

Love Yall.
